Ace producer Allu Aravind’s new film Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, is hitting the screens this Friday. The legendary producer has been actively participating in the promotions, and in one of the interviews, he revealed the names of those films, which took him by surprise in his career.
Allu Aravind said, “The results of Magadheera and Johny surprised me immensely. Magadheera’s success startled me in a positive way. I didn’t expect it to become such a huge hit. I spent a lot on that film and was even prepared for the losses. But the Ram Charan starrer has gone beyond the roof. Magadheera is Telugu cinema’s first Rs. 100 crore grosser.”
Allu Aravind added, “Johny, which I made with Pawan Kalyan, is also a big surprise for me. It was just not accepted by people. It came during Pawan Kalyan’s prime time, yet people rejected it. Halfway through the shoot, Pawan Kalyan and I were apprehensive about the result. But we were at a point where we couldn’t come back. Even when we watched the rushes, we were doubtful about the outcome.”
