AR Rahman has responded to the trolling he faced for composing music for Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
Some sections on social media questioned his involvement, stating that they were unhappy with a Muslim composer working on the epic.
Addressing the issue, Rahman said that he studied in a Brahmin school where the Ramayana and Mahabharata were taught every year, adding that he knows the story well.
He stressed that for him, the essence of the Ramayana lies in its moral values and higher ideals, which go beyond religion. Rahman’s statement has received wide support, with many praising his inclusive outlook and respect for the epic.
