Anjali Menon is well-known for her Bangalore Days which was appreciated for its heart-touching content. However, the director’s recent statements while promoting her new film Wonder Women sparked controversy on the internet. She stated that most film critics don’t know filmmaking in detail, and yet they pass remarks against a movie.
She further said that she used to get irritated when some reviewers used the word lag and added that one has to understand the editing process before writing such comments. People started commenting that one need not require technical knowledge to review a movie. A few noted that all those who spend money on a film are eligible to review.
After her comments became viral, she shared a post on her Instagram. Anjali stated that she wanted the film reviewing to be even better while the audience themselves were writing interesting detailed reviews. She wrote that she was sharing this note to avoid confusion about what she was referring to in her interview. Still, the netizens are not satisfied with the director’s statement and are opining that what she spoke was wrong.
