Malayalam dark comedy Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam has emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes of 2026, reportedly grossing over Rs. 40 crore since its theatrical release in April. Featuring a strong ensemble cast including Saiju Kurup, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jagadish, and Vinay Forrt, the film delivers a gripping narrative enriched with dark humour, high stakes, and engaging storytelling.
The digital streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix, with the official premiere scheduled for 8 May 2026. Given its blockbuster status, the film is expected to be released in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, enabling it to reach a wider global audience.
As a sequel, the film has significantly outperformed its predecessor, cementing its position as one of the year’s major hits. Its success is largely driven by strong word of mouth, particularly for its seamless transition from a family drama to a suspenseful and chaotic thriller.
Produced by Thomas Thiruvalla Films in association with Saiju Kurup Entertainments, the film is directed by Krishnadas Murali, with music composed by Electronic Kili. The supporting cast, including Kalaranjini and Baby Jean, adds depth and energy to the narrative, effectively portraying the chaotic dynamics of the Nair family.
