There is no clarity surrounding the release of Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace (previously titled Battle of Galwan). Multiple reports have suggested that the government raised concerns about the film’s content as India’s relations with China have improved significantly in recent times.

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film’s release could even be pushed to 2027 as it is still surrounded by issues. The report further states that even if those issues are somehow resolved, the release calendar is already jam-packed with major releases.

The ideal release window for the war action drama directed by Apoorva Lakhia is now Dussehra, and it remains to be seen whether Maatrubhumi can make it to theatres this year.

Chitrangda Singh plays the female lead. Salman Khan portrays Colonel Santosh Babu, who fought bravely and was martyred during the 2020 India–China skirmishes.
