Box-office numbers can be unpredictable, and Toxic is providing another interesting example. Despite being a much bigger and more hyped release, the Yash-starrer is currently trailing a week-old film in hourly ticket sales on BookMyShow.
The film in question is Bethlehem Kudumba Unit (BKU), starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju. At the time of writing, BKU was recording 28K+ hourly ticket sales on BookMyShow, while the pan-Indian biggie Toxic stood at around 22K+ during the same period.
Both films have already crossed the Rs. 100 crore gross mark, but BKU overtaking the much-hyped Toxic in hourly BookMyShow sales is a genuine box-office shocker and an unexpected development for the trade.
While Toxic is expected to command bigger numbers overall given its scale and massive pre-release hype, BKU continues to hold its ground impressively. Its strong hourly demand shows that the film is maintaining momentum even against a major new release.
