The box office has become increasingly unpredictable lately. Earlier, films featuring star heroes used to collect respectable numbers riding on star power, but that’s no longer the case. Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar, Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, and NTR’s War 2 have shown that star power alone isn’t sufficient.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan, has now joined this unwanted list, with its box office run ending on a disappointing note. The commercial entertainer failed to cross the Rs. 100 crore gross mark in its lifetime. On BookMyShow, the film sold just over 1 million tickets, a poor number for a star hero.
Regular commercial entertainers with outdated storylines are no longer being encouraged by audiences. It’s high time filmmakers take this feedback seriously and focus on fresh, unique elements to impress viewers.
