Famous digital entertainment company Chai Bisket has recently launched India’s first regional short-series OTT platform, Chai Shots, that is dedicated exclusively to bite-sized vertical video storytelling. Chai Songs is reimagining what serial entertainment can look like. It is launched with over 75 Telugu shows spanning genres such as love, thriller, horror, and crime.
That’s not yet. The founders are opening the doors for fresh voices as they come up with a 20 Crore Creator Fund and a 45-day Pitch-to-Live challenge to reach audiences faster than ever. Prominent Tollywood actor and investor Rana Daggubati termed Chai Shots as the most exciting evolution in India’s digital realm. Chai Shots is now available for download on the Google Play Store and App Store.
Co-founder Sharath Chandra added, “India has always been a nation of storytellers- now it’s time we tell stories for the screen we hold in our hands.” Not only Telugu, but the platform is also working on content in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese, aiming to become the go-to destination for vertical entertainment across the country.
With founders from Swiggy, RedBus, PhysicsWallah, Rapido, Virgio, and actor Rana Daggubati backing it, Chai Shots is set to emerge as the creative accelerator for India’s next generation of storytellers. The platform has also got backing from Info Edge Ventures and General Catalyst, who boast of startups like Zomato, Policybazaar, Airbnb, Canva, CRED & Zepto in their investment portfolio.
