On his 53rd birthday, director Puri Jagannadh displayed his kindheartedness and offered monetary assistance to 30 struggling directors. In Puri’s absence, his business partner and actress Charmme supervised the entire event.
Speaking at the event, Charmme revealed the inspiration behind Puri’s Helping Hand initiative. Charmme said that Puri had once turned emotional and revealed to her that veteran filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao had once stated that Puri would continue his legacy after him.
Charmme went on to say that it was after Puri’s emotional revelation that she planned to take up this initiative as a tribute to Dasari and fulfill his responsibilities. Puri’s Helping Hand will be an annual event and it will be held on his birthday (Sep 28) every year.
