After the debacle of Shakuntalam, director Gunasekhar took a brief hiatus and returned with the social drama Euphoria. Headlined by Dhurandhar fame Sara Arjun, along with Bhumika Chawla and debutant Vignesh Gavireddy, the film hit theatres on February 6, 2026.

In a recent media interaction, Gunasekhar revealed an interesting detail that was not known until now. He first approached Chiranjeevi for the powerful police officer role, which was later played by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

He said that Chiranjeevi read the script and, after a month, told him that it was not the right time to take up such a role, but that he may consider it in the future. If Chiranjeevi had accepted the role, the film might have received a wider attention and better response.

Although the content received some appreciation, the film failed to make a strong impact at the box office. Neelima Guna and Yuktha Guna produced the film, with music composed by Kaala Bhairava.
