Munjya, a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), was a sleeper hit. Headlined by Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma, the film earned over Rs. 100 crore nett in India alone, emerging as a massive money-spinner. Aditya Sarpotdar directed the movie.
In an interview with Variety India, the filmmaker was asked when the much-anticipated Munjya 2 would begin. He replied, “I get a lot of messages about it, and it’s good to know people want to watch it. But that’s the point. I can’t disappoint them with something mediocre. I would rather not make it than deliver something that’s not up to the standard. Until I feel that my script meets a certain level of quality and offers something totally new that goes beyond people’s expectations, I will not make it.”
Aditya Sarpotdar made it clear that his current focus is on Shakti Shalini, headlined by Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda. The film, which also belongs to the MHCU, has already wrapped up production and is currently in the post-production stage.
