Oh..! Sukumari is a lively rural romantic entertainer that stars Thiru Veer and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The movie is helmed by debutant Bharat Dharshan. Maheswara Reddy Mooli produced it under the banner of Gangaa Entertainments. The film releases on July 17. In an interview, director Bharat Dharshan alleged that a 2026 Sankranthi hit film copied his scenes, forcing his movie to undergo significant changes.
“I faced some complications during the project. I know a director whom I refer to as ‘Anna.’ I shared the skeleton of Oh..! Sukumari with him. I was shocked to see many of my scenes copied in a 2026 Sankranthi hit film. That director was given a ‘Special Thanks’ card in the opening credits. Major points were present in that film. I felt very sad. Fifty percent of the shoot of my film was complete by then,” said Bharat Dharshan.
He added, “It was a big shock for me. I requested my producer and rewrote the scenes. The hero who acted in that particular film is no less than that director. I had sent him a bound script before. Even some one-liners from that script were lifted. I had to rewrite the hero’s character arc and conclusion for Oh..! Sukumari. Many upcoming filmmakers are innocent. They are the rightful owners of their scripts. I urge them to be careful.”
