OM: Chapter 1 – Udhiram: The Blood Wood is steadily shaping up to be one of Dhanush’s most anticipated films. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy after the blockbuster success of Amaran, the film has generated strong buzz with its impressive cast, featuring Mammootty, Naseeruddin Shah, Sreeleela, and Sai Pallavi in key roles.

The latest update is that the film has entered its final shooting schedule in Malaysia. The schedule is expected to last for around two weeks, after which principal photography will be wrapped up. Once filming is complete, the team will shift its focus entirely to post-production ahead of the film’s release.

Meanwhile, OM: Chapter 1 is expected to avoid a box office clash with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. Although the film was initially scheduled to hit theatres on October 16, 2026, it is now likely to arrive at a later date. An official announcement regarding the revised release plan is expected soon.

Produced by Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios, the film’s music is composed by fast-rising composer Sai Abhyankkar, whose work has made him one of the most promising young talents in the industry.
