Bollywood war action drama Ikkis, headlined by Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, marks the final on-screen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away recently. The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan.
Ikkis was originally slated for a December 25 release, but owing to the Dhurandhar storm, it was postponed to January 1. The delay worked in the film’s favour, as it took a fair opening at the box office, earning Rs. 7 crores nett. The New Year holiday further boosted its opening-day collections.
The film has also received positive feedback from critics, with many opining that the late legend Dharmendra left a magical impact in his final performance. Bankrolled by Maddock Films, Ikkis is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and revolves around the Battle of Basantar during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
