Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is the latest rom-com entertainer starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film opened to not-so-encouraging reviews. With hardly any hype from the beginning, its box office fate was sealed even before release.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar is running riot even in its fourth week. Despite releasing on a holiday, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri failed to post double-digit numbers and struggled over the weekend, unable to hold its ground amid the Dhurandhar storm. With poor word of mouth, the rom-com crashed on its first Monday.
As per estimates, Kartik Aaryan’s film collected below Rs. 2 crore nett yesterday, while Dhurandhar posted around Rs. 12 crore nett on its fourth Monday. The run of Dhurandhar has been so historic that even Avatar: Fire and Ash had to face its heat.
Now it’s Kartik Aaryan’s film bearing the brunt, and it is set to end up as a big commercial flop. The makers of Ikkis sensed the havoc Dhurandhar was creating and smartly moved their release to January 1, something the makers of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri should have done to minimize losses.
Though the content isn’t great, Kartik Aaryan’s film could have posted respectable numbers had the makers postponed the release and arrived later, once the Dhurandhar storm settled.
