Ashok Vallabhaneni, who is distributing Petta’s Telugu version, stirred a major controversy when he made objectionable statements against Dil Raju, Allu Aravind and UV Creations, and alleged that they aren’t allotting any screens for Petta. His shocking comments drew the ire of several Telugu film producers, including Bunny Vas, and movie goers across the spectrum.

Responding to the controversial statements made by Petta’s distributor, Dil Raju gave a dignified reply saying that it is unfair to blame them for this given how tough it already is for distributors to share screens among three major Telugu films.

“For the past six months, we have been discussing about how to share screens and we reached a compromise. Under these circumstances, it is unfair for another film, whose release date was announced less than a month ago, to join the race and demand for screens. The same distributor released two dubbed films recently and got plenty of screens. No one is stopping any films from releasing, but when we have such big and prestigious films releasing for Sankranthi, it is not possible to include more films. If they wait for a week, then there will be quite a lot of options,” Dil Raju said.

Now, it remains to be seen how this controversy is going to be resolved and if Petta manages to release in a good number of screens or not.
