Bollywood firebrand Kangana Ranaut is essaying the role of Indira Gandhi, the first lady Prime Minister of India, in her upcoming film Emergency. As the title suggests, the movie is based on “Indian Emergency,” which lasted from 1975 to 1977 during the rule of Indira Gandhi. Civil liberties were suspended, opponents of Indira Gandhi were arrested, and the press was censored during this period.
After multiple postponements, the movie has finally locked its release date. Emergency will now arrive in cinemas on 14th June 2024. Along with the release date, the makers also launched the first look poster. Kangana Ranaut is also the director and story writer of Emergency.
Emergency also stars Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, the late Satish Kaushik, and Vishak Nair in pivotal roles. Renu Pitti and Kangana Ranaut are producing this movie under the banners of Manikarnika Films and Zee Studios. The film will be distributed by Zee Studios across the globe.
