Made with a budget of about Rs 16 crore, Sandalwood actor-director Rishab Shetty’s mystical folklore drama, Kantara, went on to become a humongous blockbuster across the country. The film had ended its theatrical run after amassing a staggering Rs 400 crore plus gross. Soon after the film’s massive success, the makers had announced another part in the Kantara franchise.
In a recent media interaction, producer Vijay Kirgandur, the man behind KGF and Kantara, had revealed that the second part will not be a sequel to Kantara but it will be a prequel instead. Furthermore, Vijay also revealed that scripting, planning and other logistics for the film’s first schedule are going on in full swing and that the shooting will commence from June, as director Rishab Shetty has planned a few crucial sequences in rain. The movie will be hitting theaters in April next year.
