Farzi marked the digital debut of Bollywood’s well-known actor Shahid Kapoor. Directed by Raj & DK, the web show was a massive hit on Prime Video with record-breaking viewership. Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger, leading to an intense face-off between Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kay Kay Menon in the next season.
According to an exclusive report by Variety India, Yukti Thareja has been roped in as the leading lady for the second installment. In the first season, Raashii Khanna played a cop who worked to expose the fake currency network but got closer to the protagonist romantically without knowing his true identity.
Speaking to the outlet, Yukti Thareja said, “I’m playing the main female lead in Farzi Season 2. I am the only central female protagonist this season. It’s a strong, layered role with real substance. I have already shot the majority of my portion, with about 20% left to complete. The season is expected to release in mid 2027.”
Based on what Yukti Thareja said, it appears that Megha, played by Raashii Khanna, will eventually find out that Sunny, played by Shahid, is the mastermind behind the counterfeit currency operation.
