Dulquer Salmaan’s period drama Kaantha, set against the backdrop of the film industry, is now out in theatres in Tamil and Telugu. Selvamani Selvaraj is the director, and Bhagyasri Borse played the female lead. Samuthirakani and Rana Daggubati essayed key roles.
According to the makers, the movie collected over Rs. 10.5 crores gross on the opening day worldwide. The film received highly positive reviews from Tamil critics, but Telugu reviews were completely contrasting, with critics terming Kaantha to be an underwhelming outing.
Kaantha is produced on a grand scale by Rana Daggubati, Dulquer Salmaan, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under the banners of Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd. Jhanu Chanthar has composed the music for the film.
