Bethlehem Kudumba Unit (BKU) has turned into a sensational box office success and is rewriting the record books. The Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer has reportedly collected Rs. 305 crore worldwide in just 24 days, overtaking Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, which stands at around Rs. 302 crore. The film has now become the highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever, marking a phenomenal achievement for the team.
What makes the feat even more special is the pace at which it has been achieved. Lokah took around 40 days to cross the Rs. 300 crore mark, while Bethlehem Kudumba Unit reached the milestone in just 24 days. The film is still running well in theatres, and with the momentum continuing, it could soon set an even bigger benchmark for Malayalam cinema.
The film has been drawing excellent footfalls across Kerala and the overseas markets, with audiences continuing to support it even in its fourth week. Having already crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now in a position to push its lifetime collections further and extend its record at the top.
Directed by Girish AD, the film stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, with Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Bindu Panicker, Srinda, Roshan Shanavas and Meenakshy Raveendran in supporting roles.
