Dhurandhar, spearheaded by Ranveer Singh, has now emerged as the highest grosser of Indian cinema for 2025, surpassing Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 (Rs. 850 crores gross). The spy action thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, has earned a monstrous Rs. 870 crores gross worldwide so far.
What makes this achievement historic is that Dhurandhar became India’s biggest grosser of the year just through a single language. Out of Rs. 870 crores, Rs. 186.9 crores ($20.78 million) came from overseas markets. Dhurandhar achieved these mammoth numbers despite getting banned in the UAE and Gulf countries because of its content.
This Ranveer Singh starrer has till now collected a mind-blowing Rs. 579.20 crores nett at the Indian box office, and is set to join the Rs. 600 crores nett club either by today or tomorrow. Dhurandhar will soon script history as the first Indian film in 2025 to collect Rs. 1000 crores gross.
These monumental records have been possible due to extraordinary content and repeat audiences. Most importantly, the film has sparked discussions across the length and breadth of the country, underscoring its impact on audiences.
Dhurandhar also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, and Danish Pandor in prominent roles. Shaswat Sachdev composed the tunes.
