Homebound has reached Netflix after a strong run on the festival circuit. The film was screened at Cannes and later went on to become India’s official entry for the 2026 Oscars. Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa play the main roles, and Janhvi Kapoor appears in a smaller part. The film runs for 122 minutes.
It released in theatres on September 26, 2025. The OTT release has come about 8 weeks later. That is a shorter gap than usual, especially for a film that earned so much festival attention. The makers seem to be aiming for a wider reach now that the awards season has picked up pace.
The movie did not get a big box-office run, mostly because of its limited release. With Netflix adding it in Hindi and English, more viewers can finally watch it at home. The streaming release may give the film a second life it didn’t fully get in theatres.
