Filmistan Studio is one of the oldest studios in the country and several iconic films like DDLJ, Anarkali, and Ra.One have been shot there.

Now, as per the latest update, it has now been sold to Arkade Developers for ₹183 crore, with a massive ₹3,000 crore redevelopment plan expected by 2026.

However, this move has stirred controversy as the All-Indian Cine Workers Association has strongly opposed the sale, urging CM Devendra Fadnavis to intervene, citing threats to thousands of livelihoods.

Established in 1943 by legends like Ashok Kumar and Sasadhar Mukherjee, Filmistan has been home to many big films from Hindi cinema.
