Maverick filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan joined hands for the vigilante action thriller Indian 2. The first part was a sensational blockbuster, and hence, there are mighty expectations for the second installment. After dropping several promotional assets, the makers launched the theatrical trailer today.

The trailer begins with Siddharth and his friends who are very much vexed with the system. Siddharth decides to fight against corruption, but soon, he realizes he can’t do it all by himself. Siddharth waits for a hunting dog to correct the system, and he believes only Senapathy (Kamal Haasan), the freedom fighter, can do it. As the trailer progresses, we can see Kamal Haasan donning different getups and taking on the corrupt officers.

Siddharth opines that government officers should feel scared to commit any mistake. Kamal Haasan says that he can achieve his goal of seeing a corrupt-free country only by adopting Netaji’s approach and not the Gandhian approach. The trailer indicates that Kamal will feature in some crazy stunt sequences by appearing in multiple avatars. What is the relationship between Siddharth and Kamal Haasan? How did Senapathy achieve his goal without getting caught by the police? What did the Indian government do to stop Senapathy? We will get the answers on July 12th.

From the trailer, it is evident that Indian 2 is a typical Shankar movie with grand production values and stunning set pieces. Siddharth seems to be playing the central character in this sequel, who paves the way for Kamal Haasan. Indian also focused on eradicating corruption in the country along with beautiful family emotions. We need to see how the second part will be different from the first installment.

Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Jayaram, Brahmanandam, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani, and Nedumudi Venu are playing key roles in this big-ticket entertainer. Lyca Productions and Red Giant Films are jointly producing the film. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes.
