Interview : Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada & Priyanka Sharma – We did Yashoda for its exciting storyline

Star actress Samantha’s Yashoda is out in theatres and is doing well. Unni Mukundan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Rao Ramesh played pivotal roles in this action thriller. Produced by Sri Devi Movies, the movie is helmed by Hari and Harish. Mani Sharma is the music composer. Today we interacted with Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada, and Priyanka Sharma, who played vital roles alongside Sam in the surrogacy fertility center. Here is the transcript.

 

Kalpika Ganesh:

 

What do you think about Yashoda’s plot?

No one will listen if we tell a story in a boring manner. So we need to tell the tale in an engaging way. Yashoda is a perfect package. There is every element, like entertainment, romance, and emotion. Just the songs are missing. This story needs to be told to the audience. Hence we accepted to do pregnant lady characters despite playing lead roles in other films.

 

Why did you act in the film?

I did the film for the story, which is pretty exciting, and didn’t think about whether my role was small or big. These small roles take the story forward. Samantha worked hard for the film, and I am happy with the response. This is another version compared to my role in the Prayanam movie. I did the Telugu dubbing after shooting.

 

Divya Sripada:

 

What’s the best compliment you received?

Samantha said I performed very well, and that’s the best compliment I received. If you watch the film, every character’s name will have a connection with Lord Krishna. It was planned that way to give a new feel to the movie based on the surrogacy concept.

 

How was the working experience?

It is challenging to act with a Silicone belly. The story is very exciting, and I was given many inputs regarding my role. They briefed me on the affection Leela has for Krishna. I need to make the audience feel the innocence present in Leela’s role. Samantha will do many such films and not just Samantha. All the female artists who worked will get roles and stories like Yashoda.

 

Priyanka Sharma:

 

How was the working experience?

We used Silicone bellies to look like pregnant women, and it was difficult to shoot with them. I was very excited when I heard the story. I never did this kind of character, so I was in two minds about whether I could pull off the role. I okayed it after thinking for two days.

 

A few words about Samantha

To give an example of Samantha’s dedication, she performed all the risky sequences without body double (dupe) though she had the chance to go for it. That is the level of commitment shown by Samantha.
