Is Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin set to be postponed?

Akhil Akkineni is gearing up to entertain audiences with the rural drama Lenin. The film is directed by Murali Kishore Abburu of Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha fame. Sreeleela was initially cast as the female lead, but she was later replaced by Bhagyasri Borse.

Recently, the makers unveiled the first single, VaareVaa VaareVaa, and it has been garnering a good response. Along with the song, the team announced that Lenin will be released on May 1, 2026. However, the film might get postponed, as Ram Charan’s much-anticipated Peddi is now set to hit the big screens around the same release window.

The makers of Lenin may not want to risk a clash with a tier-one hero’s film. As a result, social media is abuzz with discussions about the film’s potential new release date. Lenin features Shivaji in a pivotal role.

Naga Vamsi and Nagarjuna are producing the film under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Annapurna Studios, respectively. Reportedly, Lenin revolves around the sensitive issue of honour killings.
