Ramayana: Fans unhappy with two major aspects of the English version

Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, headlined by Ranbir Kapoor, will grace cinemas worldwide on November 5. The makers have positioned Ramayana as a global event film by going ahead with an English version. To take it a step further, a special screening was recently held in Los Angeles for fans and critics.

However, the English version being thirty minutes shorter than the original Hindi version has led some critics to opine that the visual spectacle is overpowering the emotional aspects. Fans have also taken to social media to express their disappointment. They are questioning the makers about why important sequences were cut short in the English version, as they feel this could affect the viewing experience.

Another issue was with the Brahma AI technology used to lip-sync the dialogues. The West is largely against the use of AI in movies, and fans feel that the makers should have preferred traditional dubbing over AI. However, fans remain hopeful that the Hindi version will live up to expectations.
