Prakash Raj, actor and social activist, came under fire from right wing due to his recent comments at Times Conclave. The actor was invited for an open debate against politician Dr Subramanian Swamy, and it didn’t go well for the actor, who has been quite vocal about his remarks on BJP and Narendra Modi.

During the entire course of the debate, Prakash Raj was grilled about his criticism against BJP, Modi, and Amit Shah. While the actor stated that he doesn’t like the divisive politics that the ruling party has been indulging in, the host and Swamy asked him about why he shared stage with few other people who have been accused of the same thing. The bone of the contention during the debate was suppression of freedom of speech under BJP. However, when Swamy retorted saying that India is not Pakistan because Prakash Raj has all the freedom to say what he wants, the actor clearly lost his cool.

When the debate was aired on TV, Prakash Raj was criticised for not justifying his stand clearly and many felt that he was taken for a ride by Subramanian Swamy. Responding to this criticism, Prakash Raj took to Twitter saying that he has learnt a lesson, thanks to the debate. “Yes ..Yes..Yes…I lost my way in putting forth my concerns against a very manipulative..smart..well prepared..Dr. Subramanian Swamy ..I’m growing ..I will overcome.. such setbacks chisel me.. my resolve to fight for inclusive India got stronger,” Prakash Raj posted on Twitter.
