Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 became the first-ever Kollywood film to cross the Rs. 800 crore mark. The industry hit of Tamil cinema is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
The film’s Kannada version has now emerged as the highest-grossing Kannada-dubbed film ever, surpassing Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule. Jailer 2 has so far earned Rs. 9.5 crores gross through its Kannada-dubbed version and is looking to close at over Rs. 10 crores.
However, this record won’t last long, as Ramayana is arriving in cinemas this Friday. Given Yash’s presence and massive stardom, Ramayana is expected to dethrone Jailer 2’s all-time record within two days. Ramayana’s Kannada version has already minted Rs. 3 crores through advances, and there are still two days left for the release.
