SP Balasubramanyam’s son, SP Charan, recently sent a legal notice to the Keedaa Cola team. SP Charan has accused Keedaa Cola makers of recreating his late father’s voice using AI without his family’s permission. Deeply hurt by this, SP Charan demanded an apology and share in the royalty.
This has stirred a huge debate on social media, with netizens taking sides. During an event, Tharun Bhascker opened up about the issue with SP Charan. He said, “There was a lot of communication gap between us and Charan sir. We wanted to do something exciting and also honor the legendary person. We didn’t intend to disrespect anyone. There is no commercial mentality in this entire thing.”
Tharun Bhascker continued, “Artificial Intelligence is now emerging, and it poses a serious threat to the jobs of many people. Whether I do it or not, evolution doesn’t stop. There was some communication issue, but now everything is clear.” Keedaa Cola starred Brahmanandam, Chaitanya Rao, and Rag Mayur in the lead roles. Vivek Sagar composed the tunes.
