Kennedy OTT Release: Why Fans are Unhappy with Anurag Kashyap-Sunny Leone’s Noir Thriller Moving to ZEE5

Controversial Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has announced that his long-delayed noir thriller Kennedy is finally releasing in India. However, the twist is that it will release on OTT instead of in theatres.

The movie is set to stream on ZEE5 very soon, with a release likely scheduled for February 20, 2026. However, fans and movie lovers are unhappy with the decision. The concern is not about the OTT release itself, but about the platform he chose.

Many users have asked Anurag on social media to change the platform, saying that quality is a major concern on ZEE5. Some even claimed that even if the film is released in 4K, the platform may affect the viewing experience, citing its past track record.

However, nothing can be done now since the deal has already been finalized. It remains to be seen whether the film will stream on another platform in the future.

On the other hand, the Letterboxd Video Store holds the streaming rights outside India, where viewers must pay a rental fee to watch it.

Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone play the lead roles in the film. It follows a former police officer who is officially declared dead but continues to operate as a covert enforcer for a corrupt system. Unable to sleep and burdened by guilt, he moves through a violent landscape where he struggles to distinguish between redemption and manipulation.
