During the promotions of Chennai Love Story, Kiran Abbavaram revealed a shocking incident that left him extremely disappointed. The actor was hell-bent on releasing KA in Tamil simultaneously, but he couldn’t do so as there were multiple Tamil releases at that time.
Speaking about it, Kiran said, “If one of my films is releasing, I would be worried about which Tamil movie would be released in competition and the theatre allocation. We all love Tamil stars. But my concern is that our films are not encouraged in Tamil Nadu.”
He added, “This is not just about my films. What if Lenin had been released in Tamil simultaneously? Akhil anna would have got a good market there. This is my concern as a Telugu cinema lover. I want our movies to do well there, just like their movies perform here. I once asked a few Tamil distributors to give screens to our films. They told me that Tamil audiences won’t watch Telugu films even if screens are given. That hurt me.”
