Mega hero Varun Tej will next be seen in the horror-comedy entertainer Korean Kanakaraju. The film, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, features Ritika Nayak as the female lead. It is set to hit the big screens on August 7, 2026. Today, the makers unveiled the teaser, and it looks captivating.

Kanakaraju (Varun Tej), hailing from Penukonda in Rayalaseema, is a happy-go-lucky youngster who keeps getting into petty fights and is a drunkard. A Korean-speaking girl enters his life, turning it upside down. Soon, Kanakaraju is possessed by a Korean spirit, after which he starts behaving strangely. Towards the end, Varun Tej is shown as a gangster in Korea.

The story looks quite interesting, with ample scope for entertainment. Merlapaka Gandhi has previously handled comedy subjects very well, and the teaser of Korean Kanakaraju hints at the same. Varun Tej’s Rayalaseema dialect is impressive, while the visuals indicate that the makers have spent well on the film.

The movie is being jointly produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Baba Jagarlamudi under the banners of UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments. Thaman is the music composer, while Satya plays a supporting role.
