Mega Prince Varun Tej took a short break before signing his next film with director Merlapaka Gandhi. The actor’s 15th outing made headlines today as the makers unveiled a special update on the occasion of his birthday.
The film has been titled Korean Kanakaraju (KOKA), and the team released an intriguing glimpse to mark the announcement. The glimpse opens with Satya being detained by Korean police, who question him about the main lead. Ritika Nayak then enters the frame and begins to explain what actually happened.
This leads to Varun Tej’s mass entry. Clad in a dhoti, wielding a katana, and bearing a Lord Shiva tattoo on his hand, he unleashes chaos. However, the sequence soon takes a twist, revealing that it is not Varun Tej himself but a spirit that has possessed him. What this spirit is and why it chose him will be revealed when the film hits theatres this summer.
The glimpse showcases Varun Tej in a never-before-seen mass avatar, signalling a fresh shift in his career. How he fares in this new space remains to be seen. Korean Kanakaraju is jointly produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment, with music composed by Thaman.
