Veteran singer, Lata Mangeshkar, well known as the Queen of Melody and the Nightingale of India, passed away this morning due to a multi-organ failure. The entire nation has been mourning the death of the legendary singer.
As a mark of respect to the late legend, two-day national mourning will be observed and the national flag will fly at half-mast today and tomorrow everywhere in the country.
The family of the Bharat Ratna awardee decided to take her mortal remains to Prabhu Kunj, her residence and from there to Shivaji Park, for the general public to pay their respects to the singer. The last rites will be performed with full state honours in the evening at the same park.
To recall, Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the ICU in Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai on January 11, 2022, after testing positive for Covid-19. Recently, she recovered from the deadly virus and pneumonia but remained in ICU for better treatment. Sadly, she left us all of a sudden and created a void that can’t be filled by anyone ever.
