Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, and Priyadarshan’s Haiwaan struggled to attract moviegoers and took a very low start at the box office. The poor buzz, below-par word of mouth, and competition from holdover titles like Mirzapur: The Movie and Hanuman Ansh made it difficult for Haiwaan to get a respectable initial.
Generally, Bollywood films grow over the weekend even with negative talk, but the opposite happened with Haiwaan, as the film witnessed drops. After the bad weekend, the movie started earning in lakhs on weekdays. On its second Friday, Haiwaan just made Rs. 66,838, as per trade reports, meaning a mega crash.
With this kind of trajectory, Haiwaan won’t even be able to cross the Rs. 10 crore nett mark. Haiwaan is the official adaptation of the Malayalam hit film Oppam. Lately, audiences have stopped encouraging remakes, even if stars headline them.
