Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, which was supposed to hit the big screens during Pongal 2026, got postponed indefinitely due to censorship issues. Due to the delay in release, Amazon Prime Video backed out of the OTT deal, and the news came as a shocker for fans.
According to the latest buzz, Jana Nayagan will hit the big screens only in July 2026. It is said that even the offshore theatrical rights will also change hands. KVN Productions will first release Toxic and then concentrate on Jana Nayagan, as per the hearsay. It takes time to find another OTT platform, and the speculation makes sense.
The biggie is a partial adaptation of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari and is directed by H. Vinoth. Pooja Hegde plays the female lead, while Bobby Deol will be seen as the antagonist. Latest sensation Mamitha Baiju plays a key role, and the film features music by Anirudh Ravichander.
