Star heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest release is the mythological drama Shaakuntalam. This heavy-budget flick is directed by Gunasekhar. There were good expectations before the release, but the film mostly received unfavorable reviews.
Till now, the film amassed a gross of over 230K$ in the USA region. After having a decent start in this area, bad word of mouth got reflected in the collections. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan played King Dushyant in this film which is based on the play Shakuntala written by Kalidasa.
Allu Arha played Prince Bharata. Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Kiran Bedi, Gautami, Jisshu Sengupta, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Prakash Raj played other vital roles. Mani Sharma composed the tunes for this film, which was produced by Neelima Guna.
