Veteran Kollywood filmmaker, actor, and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj passed away this morning after suffering a heart attack. He was 73 at the time of his demise. K. Bhagyaraj was widely celebrated for his contribution to Tamil cinema with his remarkable storytelling skills. He delivered many memorable middle-class family entertainers.
He is survived by his wife, Poornima Bhagyaraj, and children Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Saranya Bhagyaraj. The filmmaker began his journey in cinema as an assistant to the legendary director Bharathiraja. During a career spanning nearly five decades, Bhagyaraj directed over 25 films and appeared in more than 75 films as an actor.
