After a three-year hiatus, Akhil Akkineni returns to theaters tomorrow with Lenin, in which he plays the titular role. Both the actor and the team are highly confident about the film’s success.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted Lenin a U/A certificate with a decent runtime of 158 minutes (2 hours and 38 minutes). However, the censor certificate reveals that the film is an intense, violent action drama rather than a traditional love story.
To secure the U/A rating, the filmmakers agreed to cut 32 seconds of graphic imagery, including decapitations and excessive bloodshed, and darkened several other scenes to minimise the visual impact.
Alongside Akhil, the supporting cast features Bhagyashri Borse, Pramod Panju, Sivaji, Brahmaji, Sunil, and Easwari Rao. Lenin is jointly produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Manam Enterprises, Sithara Entertainments, and Annapurna Studios, with music composed by Thaman.
