Kollywood star director Lokesh Kanagaraj is awaiting the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated pan-India gangster drama, Coolie. The film is scheduled for release on August 14, and it will clash with Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s much-awaited spy thriller, War 2.
It was earlier reported that Lokesh Kanagaraj will be teaming up with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan for a high-voltage action drama. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lokesh opened up about his crazy project with Aamir. Lokesh revealed that his immediate next project will be Kaithi 2 with Karthi, after which he will make his big Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan’s film.
“It is a Hindi film, but made for a global audience. Aamir sir and I have spoken about it a lot over the last few months, especially when he was on the sets of Coolie. In fact, I found a lot of similarities between him and Kamal Sir. I love the way he approaches a subject. I know fundamentally his films are very different from mine, but our collaboration will bring about a new genre,” said Lokesh.
Lokesh also revealed that his film with Aamir Khan would be a superhero outing. “I don’t know if we can call it a superhero film, but I can confirm that it will be one of the biggest action films ever. The way I have written it, it has to be that big to justify the subject,” he added.
