Mahakali: Prasanth Varma’s Female Superhero Film Locks August 24 for a Special Update

The first-ever female superhero from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), Mahakali, has created curiosity with a new update. Directed by Pooja Kolluri, the film stars Bhoomi Shetty in the lead role.

The makers today shared a new poster featuring Akshaye Khanna with the intriguing caption, “The End Begins,” and announced August 24, 2026, as the date for the film’s first glimpse. With expectations running high, fans are also eagerly awaiting the announcement of the film’s release date.

Set against the backdrop of West Bengal, Mahakali is written by Prasanth Varma and produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the RKD Studios banner. Smaran Sai is composing the music, while the film is reportedly being planned for a Sankranthi 2027 release.
