The cinematic world was taken by surprise when an animated feature presented by Hombale Films achieved sensational success at the global box office. This film, Mahavatar Narsimha, served as the powerful debut for the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe (MCU), a massive project planned for 7 installments. Following this momentum, the makers have officially announced the second chapter of the franchise.
The upcoming installment is titled Mahavatar Parashuraam and is scheduled for a theatrical release in December 2027. This film focuses on Lord Parashurama, the sixth avatar of Vishnu and one of the seven immortals, or Chiranjeevis, in Hindu mythology. According to ancient texts, he is destined to reappear at the end of the Kali Yuga to serve as a guru to Kalki, Vishnu’s final avatar.
The first-look posters for the film have already sparked significant interest, depicting the immense rage and power of the legendary warrior. The makers described the character not as a traditional ruler, but as a relentless force against adharma tasked with restoring balance to the Earth. This portrayal emphasises his role as the destroyer of evil across various cosmic ages.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Shilpa Dhawan, the project is directed by Ashwin Kumar and features a musical score by Sam CS. To ensure a wide reach, the movie will be released in 5 different languages. Fans are eagerly anticipating how this next chapter will expand the ambitious lore of the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe.
