Tollywood star heroine Sreeleela is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the third installment of the Aashiqui franchise. The film, which also stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead role, is being directed by Anurag Basu.
Ever since Saiyaara was released earlier this year and became a massive blockbuster, comparisons between Aashiqui 3 and Saiyaara have been inevitable. Although Anurag Basu had previously dismissed any similarities between the two films’ storylines, the delay in Aashiqui 3’s release has reignited rumors suggesting that both movies share a similar plot.
Addressing the latest speculation about Aashiqui 3’s delay and its alleged resemblance to Saiyaara, the makers of the Kartik Aaryan–Sreeleela starrer have once again denied these claims. Aashiqui 3’s team further clarified that while both films explore doomed romance of the lead couple, Aashiqui 3 has an entirely original story with no similarity to Saiyaara.
