A Malayalam film named Premalu, which is set against the backdrop of the beautiful Hyderabad, is now ruling the roost at the box office. The romantic comedy stars Nalsen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles and is directed by Girish A.D. If a film has good content, the Malayali audience will own it, no matter whether it has stars or not.
The same happened with Premalu as well. Right from the first day, the movie has been registering good occupancies, and with solid word of mouth, Premalu has completely set the box office on fire. As per the trade estimates, Premalu has collected about 26 crores gross. For a movie made within a budget of 5 crores, this is a remarkable achievement. Kiran Josey and Girish A.D. have co-written the script.
The movie received stupendous reviews from critics as well. Premalu entered the second week on an extraordinary note, with the occupancies increasing big time after a strong hold on the weekdays. Premalu also stars Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, and Meenakshi Ravindran in crucial roles. Terrific performer Fahadh Faasil co-produced this movie along with Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banner of Bhavana Studios. Vishnu Vijay composed the tunes.
