Mookuthi Amman (Ammoru Thalli in Telugu), headlined by Lady Superstar Nayanthara, was a satirical film on godsmen and superstitious practices. A sequel titled Mookuthi Amman 2 is now in the making, and once again, Nayanthara is playing the lead role. While the first part was helmed by RJ Balaji, the second part will be directed by Sundar C.
The latest update is that the makers are spending a whopping Rs. 100 crores on this devotional film. Sundar C has recently delivered consecutive blockbusters with Aranmanai 4 and Madha Gaja Raja, which is why he is charging huge bucks for Mookuthi Amman 2.
Apart from Nayanthara and Sundar C’s hefty remunerations, the film will reportedly have a massive amount of VFX, which is another reason for the humongous budget. Sundar C previously planned to make one big-budget film with Ravi Mohan, but it didn’t materialize for various reasons.
With Mookuthi Amman 2, the actor-director wants to prove his mettle in handling big-budget entertainers. Unlike the first part, this second installment will have a theatrical release. The devotional entertainer is being jointly produced by Vels Film International, Rowdy Pictures, Avni Cinemax, IVY Entertainment and B4U Motion Pictures.
