High-budget mythological adventure film Nagabandham, headlined by Virat Karrna, is set to hit the big screens on July 3. Directed by Abhishek Nama, the theatrical trailer was launched yesterday at a grand event.
The makers have spent over Rs. 100 crores on the film, and hence the stakes are high. For Nagabandham to be in a safe position commercially, it needs to strike a chord with the Hindi audience. As everyone knows, the Hindi market is vast, and if the movie impresses audiences in the North, it could generate huge revenues.
Karthikeya 2 and Kantara, which share a few similarities with Nagabandham, didn’t enjoy much buzz in Hindi before their release. However, both films grew from strength to strength with each passing day, relying entirely on strong content and positive word of mouth. Nagabandham now needs to repeat the same magic to succeed commercially.
The makers have also planned a good number of events in the Hindi belt. Backed by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy under the banners of NIK Studios and Abhishek Pictures, the film features Nabha Natesh and Iswarya Menon as the female leads. Jagapathi Babu, Mahesh Manjrekar, Murali Sharma, and Daksha Nagarkar play key roles.
