When the National Awards 2023 were announced, Natural Star Nani expressed his disappointment as Jai Bhim failed to secure an award. Nani took to his Instagram story and posted a broken heart emoji to express his dissatisfaction. Nani also congratulated RRR, Pushpa, and Uppena teams for making it big at the prestigious awards.
A few media portals wrote that Nani is just worried about Kollywood, and he isn’t happy about Tollywood’s win. Today, Nani participated in the India Today Telangana Roundtable. During this event, Nani clarified what he meant about the awards. Nani said, “My words were taken out of context. I am very much happy about the achievements of Telugu cinema. I am very happy for my brother Allu Arjun, who became the first Telugu actor to win the Best Actor award.”
Nani continued, “I liked Jai Bhim pretty much, and it is one of the best films made. Jai Bhim deserved a win, at least in one category. Let’s assume my sister achieved something and my cousin from next door didn’t. I will express my happiness for my sister, and at the same time, I will also feel sad for my cousin. I saw media articles saying Nani is unhappy about Tollywood winning the National Awards. When did I say that? Had Jai Bhim won an award, it would have been encouraging for filmmakers to attempt more such movies.”
