Tamil film industry is gearing up to witness two different biopics based on the life of Jayalalithaa, apart from a web series based on the former CM and actress’ life. While one of the films has Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role, the other biopic, titled The Iron Lady, has Nithya Menen playing Jayalalithaa, and Priyadarshani will be directing it.

Talking about the film, in a recent interview, Nithya Menen said, “It’s a massive project and it’s not something which we can start shooting just like that. The director and the team want to do the film really well, instead of just cashing on it. I stand by Priyadarshani’s vision and she has done a lot of research into the subject. The casting has to be done right because a lot of big names are part of this story.”

The actress revealed that the film is likely to go on floors by the end of the year or early next year. Nithya Menen is known for her immense talent and it will be interesting to see how she portrays the life of a powerful leader like Jayalalithaa.
